Dose:
The dose depends on the patient.
Adults – > 16 years: At first, 500mg BD (max 3000mg a day).
Children: 4 – 16 years: 20 mg/kg of body weight in 2 divided doses, the dose should be increased by 20 mg per kg every 2 weeks until 60 mg per kg is reached.
Indications:
Adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial onset seizures in adults and children 4 years and older with epilepsy; myoclonic seizures in adults and adolescents 12 years and older with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and also primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures in adults and children 6 years and older with idiopathic generalized epilepsy.
Mode of Action:
The precise mechanism (s) by which levetiracetam exerts its antiepileptic effect is unknown.

Depression; dizziness; drowsiness; headache; infection; loss of muscle coordination; nervousness; pain; runny nose; sore throat; weakness; psychosis.
